Regarding the draft: Who would be left fighting in Ukraine if staying was voluntary for men as well? What factor, other than gender, could be a better criteria here... BMI? Everyone without children? Not sure that would be more "fair", but I say staying being more optional for the group of people more likely to be raped before killed is fair enough. And it´s not like there aren`t female soldiers in the UA army and many women haven`t chosen to stay and fight nonetheless.
